
En el debate de varias horas, han sido numerosos y variados los temas tratados. A falta de que pronto reseñaremos lo que habitualmente sorprende más a nuestros visitantes extranjeros, por la premura citaremos únicamente una anécdota descrita por nuestro inspector Pedro Julio R., sobre la cobertura de la plaza vacante en la dirección del Colegio Americano en Berango. Se encomendó a una empresa externa la selección de los aspirantes, que escogieron diez candidaturas. Una segunda entidad cribó la lista hasta reducirla a sólo 3 candidatos. Sólo entonces la comunidad escolar pudo elegir, con plenas garantías, al mejor de todos los solicitantes.
Moraleja: La función directiva en nuestros centros educativos, especialmente en los de titularidad pública, debe estar mucho más incentivada y reconocida a fin de contar con 60 solicitantes para cada plaza, como en el caso del American School of Bilbao.
